Education Development & Rites of Passage
Introduction
Assisting in educational development by integrating ancient wisdom and technology into the current, outdated and limiting education system. Much of the current curriculum transfers huge amounts of information that will never be used later on in life and fundamentally doesn’t prepare our youth for the realities of the world, much of our current education system is there to funnel the youth into careers that keep feeding the capital and consumer culture which ultimately, further depletes the earth of natural resources and further entertains classing and colonial culture. There is a huge amount of missing information in our global education systems like the genocides and slavery that have taken place and how much of our modern culture was born from these atrocities and colonial acts of oppression and control along with missing links in how to care for the environment and develop clean energy.
The world is in a social, political, economic and environmental crisis, through massive population increases and various other reasons like colonization, oppression, race and classing systems along with the Industrial and consumer age, Humanity has lost much of the wisdom that comes from ancient/indigenous peoples, all over the world (including indigenous European) people and knowledge have been colonized, oppressed and forced into systems with very conflicting intentions of greed, power and control, this has affected the whole world. It is known that many of the issues we face in the world today can be traced back to the oppression of indigenous people and its knowledge systems, Many people struggle to break away from a system that entertains unhealthy expectations of us and labels beauty, success, wealth, achievement and intellect with unrealistic, insincere expectations, as a consequence we start to see illness, suffering, misdirection, anger, confusion, imbalanced and instinctively rebellious behavior from mainly the younger generations leading to all kinds of challenging and heart breaking situations.
The youth generations hold the key to helping the shift of consciousness that will help us to live in harmony with our mother earth and each-other.
If we are going to think and act seriously about the well-being and future of our civilization and its inhabitants our focus needs to be directed towards the youth and younger generations.
One of our solutions to help the issues our world faces is to integrate/merge ancient wisdom systems into our modern times. There are a multitude of missing links of knowledge and wisdom in our modern age that has caused many of the crises our world faces. For generations, ancient wisdom systems have been oppressed, and in this, humanity has lost the guidance from elders of ancient wisdom, our current civilization doesn’t place importance on the vital teachings of ceremony, universal nature, initiation rites of passage, care for mother nature and practical techniques on restoration that teach about reciprocity, mindfulness and connection. Most people and communities have been focused on money and consumption, overseeing the importance of passing on vital wisdom. Through this process we begin to fill in the missing links and remind our youth on the importance of ancient wisdom and how to integrate and balance this into our modern times.
In this we create new, deeply informative and truthful conversations, along with practical exercises and integration based on ancient wisdom to inspire new ways of living and being.
The youth programme focuses on new age, rites of passage based on ancient wisdom systems, reminding us what it is to be human and assisting in finding direction.
Integrating this wisdom into our education systems, initially as an extra curriculum and then as mandatory studies and practices is of vital need and responsibility.
The curriculum will also open up avenues of practicing, living and working in these fields or simply integrating this ancient wisdom into our modern lives.
Meditation Workshop
A process where we remind the youth on the importance of introspection and clarity, through eastern wisdom we help clear the mind of negativity, the meditations show us the power and importance of focus and the heart. The in-depth process is a time to understand our history, reflect upon this and as individuals find our place and purpose in life. This greatly beneficial technique to focus on the self, the breath and divine realms of awareness helps to activate love, compassion and understanding, through the meditation we elevate our consciousness and perspective, integrating this into our lives helps us deal with all situations in a peaceful, loving, harmonious manner, activating a way of life that is vital in our challenging times. The meditation workshop connects us with the energies of alignment, peace and clarity, a lifelong practice to constantly evolve one’s spirit, mind and being. The retreat assists in breaking unhealthy patterns and helps release the accumulation of stress that builds up through societies unhealthy expectations of us.
Sweat Lodge
A purification ceremony with its origins in the Native Indians of North and Central Americas, this ancient ritual is known as the womb for its ability to give one the understanding and wisdom of re-birth. Temazcal is a symbolic regression to the mother’s womb and reconnection with our inner child.
With prayer and the opportunity to express deep feelings in a sacred and supportive environment we purify “the emotional waters”. An outpouring of stagnant emotions occurs, thus opening a step toward deeper healing and guidance. Moreover, Temazcal ceremonies cure and decrease fears and phobias.
In its origin, the Temazcal is a spiritual ceremony where we connect with our essence through the four elements of nature (fire, water, air, earth), meditation, singing and prayer. It is a moment of power in our lives, an opportunity to reconcile ourselves with all our relationships, our health and our spiritual path. It is an opportunity to stop and find ourselves.
This sacred medicine is done under the guidance of the original people with strict guidelines of a sweat lodge ceremony, we pass on this knowledge responsibly as this is part of the medicine of ancient wisdom, it is known we as a civilisation have lost the important knowledge that comes from ancient ritual, ceremony and rites of passage, in performing ceremonies according to ancient systems, with connection to the original holders of this medicine, we begin to integrate this vital wisdom back into our lives. The Temazcal is a time of cleansing and release of struggle, breathing into harmonious vibration with the earth and to align intention with sacred purpose.
The Temazcal is an opportunity to learn how to tame the mind and connect to our non-egoic sense of self. When this eternal self is contacted and revived, we achieve greater control of our minds and learn to purge negative thoughts, adjust habits and thought patterns, and generate positive life changes.
